Induction week - 14th to 18th September 2009

The week before the beginning of the first semester is known as "induction week"

 

 

Some of the details may change; if you are not yet in Edinburgh you should confirm with Moira Ross (Charteris Land 5th floor, (email  - moira.ross@ed.ac.uk or phone +44 (0)131 651 6206) or the Postgraduate Office (educationpg@ed.ac.uk or phone +44 (0)131 651 3122). If you have already arrived in Edinburgh you will find notices about arrangements on the 5th floor of Charteris Land

Wednesday 16th - 10am Charteris Land 5.2 MEd TESOL induction meeting with all staff

Thursday 17th

- 9.15am

Charteris land 5.2 TEAM test (for all students who do not have English as a first language)
Friday 18th 1pm main Hall, Paterson's Land Moray House induction for all new PG students

 

 

 

Monday 21st September

Note: this is a university holiday, and so tutors will not be available. Buildings will be closed 

 

 

Thursday 24th September

            

6.pm                        Party for MEd TESOL students – please contribute by bringing some food from your country      

                        Paterson’s Land G21

  • Exam results of students in your institution

     

 

 

In preparation for your stay in Edinburgh, look at www.education.ed.ac.uk/crd/tesol and prepare:

 

  • Look at the description of Edinburgh, with its video and tour round the city

     

  • The course guides for the four core courses contain book lists - read a couple of books from each

     

  • You may also find it useful to do some pre-reading: go to the link to "pre-reading" on the menu to find out more.

     

 

 

 

 

Arrangements and information about induction week, and how to matriculate, will be sent to you. However, all the information is also on http://www.registry.ed.ac.uk/Matriculation/StudentInformation/Contacts.htm
